Bike Route Descriptions
The area around Decorah provides a wide variety of cycling options. We are located on the western edge of a geologic region known as the Driftless Zone. The rugged topography is not typical of the rest of the state of Iowa. 400 feet of elevation difference, 2200 miles of gravel roads, many hard surface rides, and some of the finest mountain biking in the Tri State region are all available in the Decorah area.
- 18 miles of technical singletrack are 3 minutes out of downtown
- Many days worth of gravel and road riding are right outside town
- Our community is active in trail building and maintenance. Join us on a social ride :) All of the major intersections of our off road trails are numbered. Please take note of the numbers on the off road trail maps.
